The Whole World Is Switching to EVs Faster Than You:

"More than three-quarters of the value of vehicles brought into Nepal, Sri Lanka & Djibouti last year was purely electric. Import shares in Ethiopia & Laos were 40% & 30% respectively. Plug-in sales increased by 60% in developing countries as a whole in 2024, according to IEA."

The most shocking thing here is that poorer countries are shifting to EV/PHEV's faster than mature markets.

Standing nearby, Sun Jingguo agrees.
"The cost of driving a petrol car is too expensive.
I save money driving electric"
interesting. Cost is much more of a driver for developing countries, whilst in the beginning Tesla was the virtue signalling 2nd car
Displacing 5.3 million barrels/day by when? This is key information as it's what will put global oil demand into decline. In turn that'll force the oil industry to reconsider it's future.
Poor under developed countries have seen the light and are using EV's from the start, instead of creating a fossilized industry that does noting but take profits and pollutes.
And we wonder why and with their tin pot mayors are undermining anything other than fossil fuels..big oil must be furious
We will need a massive overhaul of our transportation infrastructure if we mass adopt EVs.
The more we learn about EVs, the more we thank God we weren't stupid enough to actually buy one.
