Sounds absurd to most people to immediately pan something you just voted for If Murkowski was a hard no, there was a potential deal with Rand on the table that would have had a much smaller debt increase So the bill might still have passed without her but sans Alaska stuff

Ultimately Republicans found the route with her less painful than with Rand, which would have required revisiting the debt ceiling pretty dang soon I'd also say if the House changes it, as she wants, it might also get rid of some the stuff she's championing

Exactly. She reduced the damage on Alaska rather than let Rand Paul be the last vote, which would have meant an even further right bill that hit Alaska harder.

Yes and if every senator or rep looked out for their state/citizens first and foremost then the country would prob be better off. Could at least make good faith compromise then. (Not defending Murkowski’s actions tho)

Interesting how her using her leverage to get stuff for her state is being viewed. I have more questions for the other 49 and feel like journalists should be asking them- why didn’t you get something? As Homer says, “Why can’t you be more like Lisa?”

I used to have a modicum of respect for her but she sucks. Whether she loses her primary or in the general I hope she goes down in her next election.

The choice for the swamp rats was either a) reduce spending b) spend more via pork projects to buy Murk vote No big surprise what they picked
