It will never cease to amaze that Americans basically just got bored of having the best lives on the planet so they elected a lunatic to blow it up in the hopes of building some microwave factories for their children to find meaning in.

What's amazing is that there was, of course, still lots of work to be done to make society truly just, not merely non-oppressive. These guys could have volunteered in their communities or whatever. But that kind of work is too boring, why do that when you can break stuff instead.
I think 's take that the US had built a virtual reality society (in that every experience could be LARPed but without any of the risks) pointed at some sort of solution to this. Seems to me that the larping became too serious and we can't recall the secret word.
