About that $5: this is what flying costs when your fuel is from hydro, not kerosene:

What would be the range of that aircraft if all 30 seats were filled up? Seems hard to get away from the underlying concept of energy density.
I have now flown in about a decade. I'm waiting for these. In the meantime, I have done 7k mile electric road trips.

Energy density is important for flight.
Less than 500 km flights are like 3-5% of fuel used for aviation. And short distance flights (less than 3 hours) are under a third of total fuel.
It will still make a dent, but a fairly small dent.

The number is way cheaper than the jet fuel its true but your number is BS.
With a price of 0.25 USD/kWh, that means the whole flight consumed 20 kWh, which doesn't really seem realistic - it's the energy use of 100 km for an electric car.
So 20kWh of electricity? 10 bar radiators worth?? Seems unlikely.
