You can tear down a structure that is "vacant and uninhabitable." It's fairly easy to make a house uninhabitable.
Couldn't imagine living in a place with zero yard and no setbacks its basically urban living
And a big mansion like that is often divided up inside to house 2-3 separate families, per my RE lawyer.
I was under the impression to use SB1123 there couldn't have an existing house on it

It's triple the size of the home it's replacing, and double the average single-family home size in LA. We can quibble about whether it's technically a "mansion," but it's clearly an expensive, luxurious home.
For my town, someone posted a proposal to replace a single family house with 20x singles, near transit, w/no extra parking, and reddit was 9/10 in favor. Unbelievable. I have to grant +1 to reddit, to maintain my honor

Five starter homes? I know the people living next door to it aren't going to be too crazy about that. Asking for a friend. How much will one of the five starter homes jammed onto a single lot be going for?
The owner on the right is now complaining the new permit will destroy the neighborhood character
