It does raise the question for me: 1) Why are a set of cables between baltic countries worth the effort & headlines for China? (not that this admin will make headline noise, or china care, but what's the strategic goal of the tactic?) 2) get supply chains out of china yesterday
We all know Putin and Xi have declared and reaffirmed their ‘limitless partnership’ multiple times in the public domain. It was just proven that China is making lethal drones for Russia.
Unlikely. We’ve seen provocations of a similar magnitude in the past. Blustering. Showing the Trump admin that they can’t be pushed around easily. Xi & Putin want to negotiate from a position of strength
Position of strength? They are both experiencing demographic meltdowns whilst China is also being ravaged by its worst ever real estate crisis, banking crisis, and youth unemployment crisis.
Yep - those are acts of war. And not clear any country is willing to challenge China over it.
More smoke than fire, imho. I’ve always thought that Peaceful Reunification/Bloodless Coup is a far more pernicious and likely risk than kinetic invasion. Hope we are both wrong.

Re: China/Taiwan-The CCP Propaganda Machine Is Cranking. Just got off the phone with someone who was born in Taiwan from parents who fled from China with the KMT in 1949 and is now an American citizen. What she told me was jaw-dropping to me. <THREAD>
From yesterday's analysis included in the aggregate analysis of nearly 250 pieces spanning late Dec. 2020 to present. Nothing else like it exists & it details every step of an insane march to WWIII in 3 specific theaters: UKR/RSA, CHN/TWN/SoChnSea & the ME.

Grok answer ... Here's a bit of whimsical reasoning for Kyle Bass's tweet: Disruption Tactics: Cutting undersea cables could be seen as China's way of testing the waters, literally. By disrupting communication lines, they're not just causing inconvenience; they're probing

Didn't one of the cables get cut a Svarlbard a couple of years ago? Svarlbard is the downlink station from satellites.

The clock is ticking for China, just like it was for Germany in 1914. It was better for them to go to war in 1914 than in 1916 or 1918. China is the same way, they know their window of opportunity is likely in the next 5 years, after that, the odds get worst and worse for them

NO repercussions. Carry on China. The West doesn’t learn. They’re doing it on Russia’s behalf. China has no interests there. The West is made up of weak, cowardly leaders that have forgotten lessons and ways of the past. They’re pussies that think diplomacy works against enemies

Cutting telecom cables by anyone including US should be a major worry to all financial investors. I would worry more about this than China, Russia and other warmonger enterprises cause part of my assets could be lost.
Every single one of their ships is designed for dual purpose missions, apparently. I think we should ban all Chinese cargo ships from western ports, and warn that any Chinese vessels caught turning off or falsifying their location transponders be considered pirate vessels,

It‘s time that the western countries do everything that Russia will be defeated in Ukraine. This is the only way to show all dictators and future warlords in the world, hat their plans will never bevome reality.
Kyle, the next logical time for physical invasion is the spring of 2025. Focus should be given on non-physical invasion. It is well underway. Taiwan will fall not because of attack, but because the Taiwanese will not raise arms. They are watching Ukraine with alarm.
Kyle while everyone is diverted by the shiny objects of Trump cabinet nominees Xiden & Stinken Blinken have embraced Ukraine provocation missiles fired on Russia and communications sabotage so the CCP can begin the first of its kind semiconductor monopoly war .
It’s a very Axis of Evil type of thing to do, don’t you think? Just another reason to their long list! #China #AxisOfEvil

"they are setting up for a Taiwan invasion" <- But are they preparing something much broader at the same time? ie: Some kind of modern day Pearl Harbor pre-emptive action? A broader war to dominate neighbours, etc?
TSMC leaves the West unbelievably vulnerable to China. Get advanced semi manufacturing out of Taiwan. If that's even possible. At any cost. It is way worse an exposure that oil was when the Carter Doctrine declared the P Gulf a national interest to be defended w military force
UK has the intent and capability. Activity cannot be ruled out. Liz Truss was the PM and very exultant after the pipeline was destroyed.
The total for Chinese ships cutting cables/pipelines in the Baltic is now up to four already. Two a year ago, two now. They want a broader war in Europe.
The CCP will probably never fire the first shot because it knows its military capabilities are subpar. Yet it will do all kinds of sabotages.

It turns out that if someone needs to do this, then you have to wait for a ship that will sail and after that you have to cut the cable. Then there are no questions for you, all questions for the king who just sailed
That's the consequences of letting ruSSia get away with the invasion on Europe
