A bill in Albany would require the installation of speed limiters on the cars of super speeders - a device that would have slowed down this very car.

I will agree with you here. But the obsession with speed cameras led to a lack of any real enforcement, meaning most of us driving safely down Eastern/Pelham/Queens/Ocean pkwys have to deal with miscreants zooming in and out of traffic.
Agree - time to crack down on the super speeders that put everyone else on the road - including other drivers - at risk.
So your statement talks about "speed limiters in the vehicles of New York’s most reckless super speeders" and mentions drivers with 52 speeding tickets/year.
But the bill we are asked to support is dramatically greater in scope: 6 camera speeding/red light tickets/year.
Wait, are you counting parking tickets in the >90 number? Over 20 speeding tickets is egregious enough.
I'd vote for a 50 violations strike rule where we throw them in prison for 10 years after they cross it. It's a crazy enough number that no normal person can argue against it. And no decent driver would ever reach it.
Capital punishment should not only not be banned, it should be radically expanded. The prison population should also be tripled.
We don't need new digital nannies which will trickle down to normal drivers through state mandates or insurance.
Suspend their licenses and if they continue to drive, JAIL.
Simple and effective.

An hour ago an SUV drove by me and my wife doing at least 60 on the 145th St bridge, totally out of control. Thought they were going to jump the curb.
How does a person with 90 ticket still keep driving and having insurance?
How about you guys stop fucking around and actually protect people. A speed limiter won't stop them if they get into a different car. Take away their license and put them in prison why is it so difficult? Why do you people think a device is going to stop this?
Yall will do anything except put criminals in jail. That’s the only thing that will stop them. Not taking away licenses, speed limiters, cameras, lowered speed limits.
