some have been re-elected, but they all lost vote share compared to the previous election
We thought that, since America had the best post-pandemic recovery, the incumbent party would be rewarded for that. And we were right, relatively speaking. The baseline was just too low.

I think that’s mostly because of how utterly polarized the US electorate is (and bc of what a weak candidate Trump is, despite his win)
Doomed from the start, a good sign that there isn't a massive fundamental right wing shift in the country and that its just the inflation
Makes me wonder if we could have won if Biden hadn't run and we'd had a primary and ultimately picked someone from outside the administration who could distance themselves. Wasn't an option in July obviously.
I think this isn't a fair comparison, since this is mixing up parliamentary systems with our two party system.

It's a hard loss. I have so much more respect for Harris than I did when she was first selected as VP.
Nah bjp lost vote share and seats but still much better performance than the democrats.
We did as well as we could, and Harris did all she could. This is a sad week, but we should've seen this coming.
