The MAGA cult may be fine with paying double for everything and okay with having bogus numbers presented but the markets aren’t placated by ideology. Moves like this firing, will shake foreign investors as evident in today’s market drop.

Get used to not believing anything that comes from the US Govt. Unfortunately just not believing and paying for data from reputable private sources will not entirely protect us. Social Security recipients should expect zero CPIs and no COLAs for instance.
