My client Will Kim has a green card, grew up in the US, became a scientist & is researching Lyme disease vaccines. He has spent >7 days in a CBP airport detention ctr w/ no daylight, sleeping in chair, no access to lawyer. Another brutal attack on immigrants & science. Free Will!

Tae Heung "Will" Kim, a green card holder and Korean citizen studying in Texas, was detained at San Francisco International Airport on July 21, 2025, after returning from his brother's wedding in Korea. The likely reason for his detention was a 2011 minor marijuana possession
The #CBP are simply trying to fill the outrageous quotas they have been given. Probably have financial incentives to hit those quotas. The longer individuals are detained the more of the $150 billion gets laundered & passed to Trump's cronies. Rinse, repeat. Nobody is safe.
Give a racist one excuse to deport someone, measley marijuana use charge, and they'll take it. We should deport all the racist to Russia
Please Mr. Immigration Attorney, could you give us your professional opinion on how a marijuana charge does not violate his green card status? Just curious
Yeah, this one smells weird. Korean law prohibits adult dual citizenship. It apparently was your client's family and client's own choices never to seek US citizenship, just stay a LPR forever?
Advices your green card clients to not get arrested for drugs. Green cards necessitate the best behavior. Also, it's slimy (redundant with defense attorney?) to be this misleading in your tweet, Champ.
Not a brutal attack at all. And he is there because of drugs. Why lie or omit parts when you know the internet tells all?
How long was he in ROK? Did our government know he was a full time student and not employed? Did his status also require a student visa? Did he violate terms of his Green Card?
So you have a problem with enforcement of the laws properly enacted by Congress? I have a problem with someone living here for 35 years with no desire to gain citizenship (resulting in a MUCH different outcome - he'd be sitting at home right now). Did you know that a DUI, among
This is horrifying but what's also horrifying is how conservatives think spending tens of thousands of dollars to do this to Kim and others is a good use of taxation. Their children are losing health insurance and yet they celebrate spending money on this over children. Insane.
You mean the guy who was convicted of a drug offense? Nah, deport his ass. Living here is a privilege not a right if you aren’t an American Citizen.
Been here since he was 5 and still not a citizen obviously has no interest in being American
It’s ok buddy, most of your law firm friends have turned full Nazi, why are you slowing the inevitable run up to the great American holocaust? We all know it’s where this all ends, slowing it just draws out the suffering…
