Wouldn't it be smart concern for them even if winning the special was guaranteed, given the NY state would keep the seat open for many months in any case, and thus GOP down a vote all that time?

We should be concerned about margins this narrow. Kathy Hochul is corrupt and Democrats are pouring millions into the elections in Florida and republicans are terrible about turning out for special elections and midterms. When you also look at how terrible democrats are doing

There is the Fabrizio poll that apparently shows Randy Fine -3 against Josh Weil which should be red alert for the GOP. FL-6 was DeSantis' seat and Waltz's seat, both winning substantially.

You should probably add to the narrative that the same things happened in the 2023 special election and Trump won easily anyways. Also, Hochul can delay the election and delay Trump's agenda.

I don't think that's the point, it's how long it would take from the time she took up her new post to when her House position could be filled. A special election doesn't happen overnight.

Because Hochul will take as long as possible to fill the seat and likely play shenanigans in doing so. And then it’s up to get R’s to turn out in a vote that Trump isn’t at the top for. You know this.

Remember Democrats won two races recently in Iowa and PA where Trump won huge a year ago in those districts. And there worried in FL a district Trump won by 30.

New York would have slow rolled the election- so the seat would have been empty for months - leaving ab even slimmer margin- this is not about winning the district- it is about the dems playing games with the timing of the special election
