It’s two shots and the second shot gave me a 48hr fever.
It’s worth it. To not get shingles alone is worth it.
I read up on it and it prevents shingles at 90%.
Didn’t know about the secondary effects.
Going to pass on this one. Had chicken pox as a kid, so this not necessary.

I’ve had chickenpox twice in my life and I am now 52 years old… Not once have I been offered the shingles vaccine by my doctor.
Shingles is relatively common and it can be devastating. This is one vax that I was very happy to get.
So far, I am not convinced about the wisdom of getting flu vaccines or pneumonia vaccines, although I will keep an open mind and revisit the question every year.

I've never heard of this before! Holy crap, thank you! Neither of my parents have had the vaccine, but I'm going to annoy them until they get it now. I'd already wanted them to get it because shingles is already bad enough!
Get the vaccine. I got shingles when everyone was getting covid. Don't waste your time couped up because shingles is highly contagious. Funny where was my shingles outbreak?MY FACE.. Really. GOD BLESS MY SISTER. AFTER I got shingles, she got vaccine, didn't tell me till latter.
Also, other people can catch chickenpox from a person with shingles. It's a low risk but possible.

I got mine after my younger brother got shingles. It was nasty, no way I want to go through that.
warning.. it two doses. and second really hits hard. But glad I'm avoiding shingles. had it once and was told it could retrigger under lots of stress. The first time was PAINFUL.
I happily got it many years ago! But I'm a vaccine enthusiast - 45 years of annual flu shots, every available COVID vaccine, pneumonia, RSV, you name it! And guess what - I'm HEALTHIER as a result!
Ok the shingles isn’t the end of the world here. I had it. Small rash near my hip. Put some lidocaine on it and you’ll be fine.
I was in line at Walgreens when an acquaintance got in line behind me. He was suffering badly from shingles and he told me to get the shingles vaccine. He was really sorry that he had not. So, I did and I'm very happy with that decision.
