House Republicans just released their budget resolution - which keys up their reconciliation bills, which can avoid a filibuster and be passed with a simple majority. This is VERY real. They are calling to cut Medicaid by AT LEAST $880 billion, and to cut SNAP by AT LEAST 20%.

As a dedicated lib: isn’t SNAP a little bit generous because didn’t Biden boost it sizably? Doesn’t SNAP contribute to inflation at the grocery store. With wage gains concentrated at the bottom, do we really need so much subsidization of food, which is cheap and abundant?

Elon runs 5 US companies so yeah - lower the taxes on those companies because that literally translates to growth and employment opportunities for every day people and when there are more employment opportunities THERE WONT BE AS MANY POOR HUNGRY CHILDREN IN COUNTRY. Numnuts 😂

This is what I've been saying ... Musk tosses vague statements about "waste", but doesn't actually produce any examples. It's used to enable an actual cut to medical care. It's a complete Boogeyman tactic.

These are deficit reduction targets across all line items within each of these committees' jurisdictions. No doubt it's likely that Medicaid & SNAP will be targeted, but it's pretty presumptuous to assume that all of those reductions will come from those two programs alone.

If you clean up corrupt and wasteful spending, I think the vibe shifts to higher taxes. Progressives just don't understand how catastrophic corruption is to their cause. Whether it be false accusations of racism, or receiving government funds, for negative value services.
