SF Muni buses should have mounted cameras that bus drivers can use to auto-cite people driving in bus lanes and get a cut of the fines. win-win-win.

The 7 year old proposed this for Waymos this morning. “Daddy, the Waymos can take pictures of Ubers stopped in the bike lanes and then send them tickets!”
They should just automatically mail fines to registered white Teslas owners
Add autocite for blown tail lights (can't tell if the person is stopping), expired registration tags. No excuse for Bill Scott and Brooke Jenkins to claim stops are biased against Blacks and Brown.
Here is the problem: you often have to move into the lane to turn or park or react to an emergency vehicle. An auto-cite makes no distinction and the burden is on you at a hearing to plead your case. Put the cameras in the bus to protect passengers.
Absolutely. We should have as many cameras as possible monitoring as many people as possible, and immediately punish anyone going against what City Hall has decided. We have the technology to keep literally everyone in line. We could start adding a social score too.
No. No they shouldn’t. How do you know ow he isn’t preparing to make a right turn at the upcoming light ? Or going to pull over to get directions off his phone? Or text someone ?
Nice. Let’s run the remaining people out of visiting the city! And add more crime and homeless people on top of that ticket!
This is dumb -you need context- they could be simply pulling out from a parking space- picking up a disabled person etc…
Before I die I’d like to see a tweet from biker and/or public transit advocate that’s not a complaint. Just one dear lord can that happen or is complaining hopelessly deep in their DNA?
Hell no! WHENEVER you give up power to an entity with a financial interest, you’ll lose. I got one for turning into a Sutter parking garage, stopped to let an elderly lady pass as any civilized person would do, then pull in. A bus cam got me. Eff the SFMTA
