I had a theory a while ago that all of these legacy bands will just become corporate forever brands and something more akin to a play or musical where an official revolving cast production of it will just eternally exist. Maybe even all run by private equity. Then they can buy
Applying the Ship of Theseus paradox to a classic rock band with zero original members remaining is brilliant.
I've said this before and will do so again, anyone who wasn't on the Street Surviors cover or backup singer like Cassie isn't Skynyrd. This is a Vegas cover band at best.
Johnny Van Zant just doesn't have it compared to Ronnie or Donnie. The first time I heard God and Guns from 2008, it was so bad I think it gave me cancer.
If the year was 1956 and people were still literate, this would win the internet.
In the end, it was a bird you could, in fact, change . . . <7 minute guitar solo>.

I had a seminar discussing the ship of Theseus a little while after I went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and did use them as an example
There are about two dozen bands who are (or were) in the same position. It's kind of fascinating.
I made this joke once in group where people were talking about how lynyrd skynyrd were still performing. Everyone got confused why I randomly started talking about boats & changed the convo when I tried explaining it lol
I read that as an awesome slant-rhyme pun on Sisyphus at first scan!
