When corporate landlords like Blackstone enter a suburban neighborhood, rents fall and segregation declines because minority renters can now afford to live there.

Would you look at that, capitalism, the system that created unprecedented wealth, isnโt the problem.
Is data really saying that Blackstone are the goodies? Not baddies
Most of these people want to own homes but end up renting because firms bought up entire neighborhoods down south. Yโall stay silent when we get displaced by gentrification, but then turn around and use us for diversity points for being forced to rent homes we wanted to own.
theyโre putting this out to defend the Blackstone exec.
when Blackstone buys your whole neighborhood, itโs not to increase โdiversityโ
itโs to corner the market and raise the rents.
have you never played monopoly?
This effect is only measured in the short-termโit's almost certain the opposite would be true on a long-term horizon.
"Don't worry about private equity buying single family homes, they just want to blockbust the whites out" isn't a very compelling argument
Letโs revisit these same neighborhoods in 15 years and see how they have fared. Are the homes well-maintained? Is the landscaping fresh and attractive? Are the streets clear of non-operable vehicles? I suspect we all already know the answers.
Wow I never thought of it that way. My nice suburban neighborhood gets minorities shoved into rental homes and my property values fall? Thank you, Blackstone, for diversifying my neighborhood! The gunshots and police sirens are so vibrant!!!
In every city 75 years ago as segregation was reduced rents fell. Why is this?
it's true, and that guy is dumb, but the example of boeing, et al, is likely informative for what problems will arise further down the line with this specific type of ownership.
there's solutions to most of them, but we're not seeing any level of gov take the lead on any of it.
Yep, because "greedy corporations" care far more about profit than about discrimination. Capitalism works.
the last line says life gets worse for me in order for life to get better for people who are more likely to make my life worse.
that's a non-starter. it's telling me i have a vested interest in opposing this, because i'm a homeowner.
Why would a property owner want rents to decrease?
Sometimes stupidity is just stupidity.
Ohh I was told blackstone is not purchasing homes, now you dipshits saying they donin fact buy and supposedly โrents fallโ?
We truly havent murdered enough CEOs
So basically what you are telling us is, Blackstone ruins neighborhoods with crime?
Dude reads that cherrypicked part of some stats and sells out his own self-interests.
They are laughing their collective ass off at these ignorant fools who eat this shit up. We are so cooked as a nation.
So murder is justified by your low IQ rational then? Did you come for a 3rd world country Paw?
