During SCOTUS oral arguments just now, TikTok admitted that executing a qualified divestiture in *any timeline* would be “extraordinarily difficult.” Why? Because the engineers that update TikTok’s source code are based in China. TikTok and ByteDance are inseparable. By design.

Facebook and Meta are inseparable. what is the problem with that? US gov't would rather bankrupt US Steel than sell it to Neppon Steel. Exiting US market is not a big deal for TikTok. On TT's exit list, US is behind India.

why in the FUCK is SCOTUS taking this at all??? what in the actual fuck is wrong with them? won't touch cases of great import...won't touch election or gun cases...but they'll jump on TikTok? that s/b a 6-3 "No" and also telling them they can pound fucking sand. what is going on?

Forking code is a thing and would have been possible if they started months ago instead of just fighting this. This is nonsense and the real reason is that the CCP doesn’t want to lose control.
