Climate change is real. Climate change is a big deal. The biggest harms of climate change occur in the future and afflict non-Americans. Any kind of problem that has that structure is fairly "weird" relative to the priorities of the electorate.

Kinda seems like @mattyglesias is saying that climate change is no big deal & it's weird to worry about it too much. slowboring.com/p/the-politics

What it should be and what you think it should be are two separate issues. Climate change consistently polls very high among issues voters care about, and there’s a large portion of the population that cares about it enough to make it single issue.
You imply that the current impacts in the US are inconsequential. Those experiencing extreme heat, forest fires, hurricanes, drought, floods and sea level rise might be to differ.
It’s sad that so many Americans have this mindset. The effects of climate change are happening everywhere and affect the whole world. I see it happening around me. It kills and dries the trees, then we have bigger fires that spread more rapidly and consume entire towns.
If it harms non-Americans the most why do high population countries like China, India, Nigeria, Indonesia, etc do nothing to prevent it? Wouldn’t they do so out of self interest?
Americans are already dying due to climate change, it's just that they don't die and won't die in as large numbers as in some other countries. OH, and they are already paying for it too, as showed.
And afflict non-Americans I cannot tell if this is your usual sarcasm Americans better move to higher ground too.

And the driver of climate change this century will be those poor non-americans who will increase fossil fuel consumption as they they develop with rising standards of living far outstripping the minor inconveniences of climate change. China is the model here

Climate change hysteria is for dumbfuck Liberals and rich people scamming money. Not mutually exlusive.

No government intervention unless you need the government to intervene to keep you from losing money
??? When did the Biden administration "ban millions of kids from schools"? The federal government wasn't behind school closures. Biden and Harris weren't even in office when the school closures began in 2020.

I agree, I’m technically undecided but can’t see myself voting for Harris for a lot of reasons. What the Biden administration did to ban millions of kids from schools is enough to make me sick that they (Harris) would continue another term. I like a lot of democrats and policy,
