This highlighted portion just isn’t true. Not only did Elon deny any of said unpopular cuts. He was touting them on here in and in public….chainsaw in hand.
He was so excited about the attention and the appearance of power that he didn't realize he was being used. But the real purpose of DOGE had nothing to do with government efficiency, and he was the last person to find out.
Maybe. But Musk didn’t exactly come away empty handed. The regulatory environment for his companies is distinctly different than the last administration.

Having Musk take the blame was probably a better outcome as he had a positive reputation amoung low information voters.
