Boggles my mind that half of our top universities still don’t require standardized tests. Well, there will be a lot of fun data to analyze. It’ll be fascinating to compare outcomes for the ’24–’29 test-optional cohorts with previous ones.

How many “test optional” candidates are getting accepted though? None of the top performing high schoolers I’ve seen are skipping it.

Depending on the university for optional ones, 1/4th to 1/2 the incoming students didn’t submit them and of course then there’s the UC system

Surprised to see University of Chicago red on that list. I always thought of them as one of the more serious schools.
