One takeaway is given a choice between inflation and unemployment, voters would rather have unemployment. Also, many perceive inflation from mortgage rates.
Is the cost of living equation due to stagnant salaries, or price inflation of goods? If the latter, is it due to monetary inflation, or scarcity?

I recall reading an article about the door-to-door canvassers: The Republican ones said inflation and the economy were the biggest issues whereas the Democrats ones said it was Israel/Gaza.
