The fact that we let in 20,000 Haitians into the country legally is actually worse
The whole point of laws is to permit what’s desirable and to outlaw what isn’t.
Hence the more important question here isn’t whether the Haitians in Springfield are there legally but whether it’s desirable that they be there.

There has been a lot thrown around, but my assumption is that in Springfield, as in similar communities, we're talking about a mix of citizens and legal immigrants, unauthorized persons, and unauthorized persons under TPS (which is not a legal status).

They are only legal because of the temporary protected status they put in place for them. I know things are horrid im Haiti right now, but that doesnt mean they can just do whatever they want. They arent immune to the law, and they shouldnt be getting more than other citizens.
