Is there a chart that shows the productivity of the car owners vs the non car owners to the city? Are the blue column low income non-car owners working and paying taxes, for example? Are the car owners paying more taxes to the city?

I own a car in NYC. Live in Brooklyn and driven in whenever for whatever. The $9 congestion pricing didn’t change my behavior. I never think about it. If you made me buy a $1k special permit to park….I’d pay. Might pay up to $5k…

The space given away free to drivers is the same as 12 Central Parks.

The rich people you’re talking about all pay for a garage. For most of us who need to drive to work/drive children to daycare this is just another “my other tax idea isn’t going to work, so let’s do this” instead - while the “rich” people you scream about aren’t impacted

Pushing back a bit on this to say that at least 1/3 of the teachers for NYC live outside of the city and rely on street parking. If you’re going to start charging the public, you should make an exception for employees of the city.

Zohran is not limiting the fees to parking in Manhattan. It's all 5 boroughs. So people in Queens who are already taking the train to Manhattan to work now have to pay to park in the street outside their home/apt. in Flushing.
