The Kennedy team in 1960’s actually had a giant data/statistics team and they all urged him to move to the left on Civil Rights.

Would JFK have been able to get those bills passed though? I think it was the assassination plus LBJ’s influence and congressional majorities that did it.
sorry, what is the point you are trying to make here? None of this would have justified ignoring Civil Rights until the polling looked good, which would be the equivalent of what Jentleson is suggesting.
