FEMA just got 20.26 B in the last CR. Those funds became available on 10/1. I believe there is also roughly 8B left over from FY 2024. Perhaps they can reprioritize domestic disaster relief and reprogram existing funds accordingly. Source: 10/4/24 Congressional Research

There is $21 billion for FEMA emergency use that was included in the CR recently passed by Congress. It obviously won’t be enough but it’s enough until Congress comes back in session. FEMA won’t run out of $ before 11/12 when Congress is back in session.

The administration should divert some funds from other programs to the affected areas and then publically call out Republicans for not doing more to assist those in need, especially as another storm approaches on Florida. They can help those affected and be right on the politics.
