The French people are crying out for their air conditioning, but their aristocrats are telling them to suffer and die. My advice is: Don't piss off the French people.

Heatwave: 8 out of 10 French people demand the widespread adoption of air conditioning. A large majority believes that installations should be expanded in schools, housing, and transportation, including among environmental activists. lefigaro.fr/actualite-fran

The first French Revolution didn’t work out to well. Maybe the second time will be the charm!
Eight years after the yellow vests protests for cheap gas, it would be glorious to have "French naked people for AC" demos.
The reputation of the French people as being willing to fight injustice against them is undeserved. Their largest protest in recent memory was to endorse gerontocratic wealth transfers when the government tried to very meagerly curtail it. It's a society of followers
European civilization has to be completely rebuilt due to climate change. Even the asphalt on the streets is melting! German Autobahn was closed today.
The French these days may riot when the government tries to get finances under control eg increasing the public pension access age from 48 to 49, but nobody gets guillotined any more.
They need some of our lawyers. Imagine a hospital in US without AC during a life-threatening heatwave. Every patient there would be calling a lawyer.
Italians of course are enjoying the weather. Because italians just like the heat (and are all at the beach anyway).
FFS, nothing points out the faith-based nature of the climate cargo cult like the élite of a 70% nuclear-powered nation crying about f---ing air conditioning. How many dinosaurs are consumed in the nuclear generation of a gigawatt?
French people are old. They are not getting out of their nursing homes to protest
Air conditioning is costly to install. There was a time when it was unnecessary for Europe, but climate change has happened and will continue to happen, so it is now necessary for Europe south of the latitude of say, Brussels. This sucks, but that's how life is now.
Anyone who lived through COVID in Europe knows governments can now do whatever they want and get away with it. In Spain, Pedro Sánchez is staging a slow-motion coup, and nothing can stop it.
