There's finally a paper providing empirical evidence that Ozempic reduces addiction. In this study, Ozempic was related to greatly reduced risk of opioid overdose!

Was out of out of (out of pocket) Ozempic for a while. Hour after shot even the idea of alcohol is refreshed as entirely uninteresting. I was extremely surprised how stark it was.
it seems you had preconceived biases and the paper only reenforced them? anyways i thought ozempic worked by slowing down shit moving through your gut, aka physically slowing digestion, not mentally...
Well if we know semaglutide binds with GLP-1 in the nucleus accumbens, & we know that GLP-1 in the nucleus accumbens is part of the reward system that drives addiction, we have a rough idea that semaglutide is breaking the addiction cycle.
How does it outperform other GLP-1s on the list like Liraglutide or the “Other GLP-1” category tho
Ozempic users report nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and GI issues as common side effects. Serious risks include thyroid tumors, pancreatitis, hypoglycemia, and kidney problems. Make sure you post the positive and negative aspects.
I've been wondering about this ever since I read Ozempic mutes impulses in general. It must have some impact on gambling/gaming addictions?
A next question for GLP-1's re addiction s/d be abt dosing. Does it require the weigh loss lvl dose to get the bennies of addiction trmt? Does it need to be tappered 👇 or 👆 depending on the individual? 🤔
Seems like GLP-1's have a yet not understood ability to go thru the 🧠 barrier that is not possible w/other Rx. Given that food addiction is a real behavior, I'm glad GLP-1's are proving this.
Are there any potential conflicts of interest in some of these studies about the drug? That's a key question I'd ask when things seem too good to be true Then again, though, maybe Ozempic is the latest Ivermectin, Tylenol, or Penicillin (core drug in the medical repertoire).
I have a somewhat similar experience, most of my cravings are gone. I havent had a drink in months and fast food just doesnt taste the same.
Any data about stimulant addictions? I think so far that has the fewest interventions of any sort of addiction, if any.
Makes me wonder if addiction is somehow psychologically tied to the same brain mechanisms related to hunger and that is why it is so hard to resist, hungry people eat the craziest shit.
Yay make yourself feel like shit so you’re not hungry and don’t want to get high!
Very interesting Mechanism of effect on alcohol & other recreational drugs (namely cocaine) is through activity on the stomach dopaminergic pathways Perhaps it’s reducing consumption of fentanyl-laced drugs of other types
