Discord went from coordinating gaming raids to coordinating actual government overthrows.
The devs definitely didn't have "democratic revolution" in their user stories when they built voice channels and polling features.
Build a reliable product, users will find a way to use it for all sorts of use cases.
Hey, it worked. Probably should build a feature set for this exact scenario now because it's going to happen again and there might be a lot more people involved next time.

it would be great to see how voting was done, time limit, how discord is able to count unique voters & how everyone agrees to who is being voted
Where else would anyone coordinate? Every other network has been neutered by ads and algorithmic sorting, making consensus and large scale organizing impossible.
I have found that people will find ways to use software that its creators never imagined.

So they rigged the election to be over thrown by unemployed youth ,who then choose a government with out the consideration of the minority ( old people) ,who they think failed them ?

Dude develop a social media application for Indian users similar to how chinese ppl have their own social media apps.
We don't want to rely on the west when we have talented ppl like you.
