A key meeting on updating next season's flu shots was canceled by today
Even if rescheduled for later, a former official warned us it could hamper availability of shots in fall
"This delay will really put manufacturers behind."

So what? Manufacturers don't need this. Anyone can guess what strains will be prevalent in the fall. The current process is completely a guessing game. Then they don't run any randomized studies. So they don't even know if they guessed right. They run test negative case control. x.com/Alexander_Tin/…

All they are going to do is make a guess at the prevalent flu strains this fall. Efficacy is usually well below 50% every year. Can't really guess any more poorly than they have in the past by canceling 1 meeting.
What is the scientific basis for your concern about this cancelation?

Ah yes, because flu shot production hinges entirely on one meeting. Maybe we should tell the flu to reschedule its season too.
It's too bad shitty therapeutics with nasty side effects won't be immediately available
You don't need a "meeting" to make these decisions. My God the incompetence and hysteria.
So you're arguing that our ENTIRE response to the seasonal flu relies on this single meeting? And if this meeting doesn't take place we can't have an effective preparedness and response to the seasonal flu?
Think about that for a moment. Something that occurs every single year,

It's okay. Take a dart board and put the strains up on it and close your eyes. Toss a dart. Good as having the meeting.
There were plenty of 24-25 flu vaccine meetings. Guess what? They still missed this season’s formulation. It’s pretty much worthless.
Why do libs love process so much, especially when it clearly doesn't work that well
