conservatives rewriting jan 6 is one of the slickest sleight of hands ever pulled. lets not even get into memory holing of the fraudulent electors plot
It was widely understood immediately after how awful it was and who was responsible. Many people have made their living the last few years downplaying and whatabouting it.
This is not your fault at all, but it is truly astonishing the curated version of this day various people have been shown. You could take 2 people and they would have polar opposite views of what actually happened based on the footage they’ve seen. To this day there are countless

It’s really wild to me that I feel so alone in thinking that both this and the BLM riots were both bad.
What people like Elon are doing, with the help of Tucker and other bad faith assholes, is attempting to rewrite history. As if what happened on that day wasn't really a big deal, and as if it wasn't actually caused by what we all know it was caused by. Trump's lies.
I also had never seen this. I think you broke The Discord Algorithm somehow. Republicans were never supposed to see this, while Democrats only ever saw this. I did know one side of the Capitol Building was riotous and the other was peaceful, but not to this degree!
Interesting that one of the rioters has a change of heart and tries to help the leading police officer who is hurt. There's some good in the worst of us.
I think the best footage is the footage straight from Infowars. The host in the studio keeps calling the insurrections "patriots" and you can hear the glee in his voice like a new age was upon them. Once it stopped then he quickly changed his tune.
At 0:57 as Officer Hodges starts screaming you can hear nearby protesters telling the ones behind to back up. The protesting woman behind him asks if he’s ok. The crowd crush is scary and ultimately the fault of the protesters. But most of the protesters near him weren’t violent
hard to choose words to describe, or inquire, what could have inspired this moment, in that space? Ow!Ow! no shot fired here, that's good.
My most right-wing belief is also my most left-wing belief: They should have started shooting rioters as soon as they breached the capital. Keep shooting until they run away.
That is *quite* bad, yes. In a less free country those rioters would never have left that tunnel alive.
We would be far better off if they broke in before evacuation and they did what they wanted to do with Pence. Instead they've successfully lied and obfuscated it and passed it off as no big deal. Zero consequences for one of the most blatant attacks on American democracy ever
"I saw the Emperor – this soul of the world – go out from the city to survey his reign ; it is a truly wonderful sensation to see such an individual, who, concentrating on one point while seated on a horse, stretches over the world and dominates it"

I guess you were paying attention to something else, getting your POV on this from people who didn’t share the truth.
yes i remember this video.. and i am not watching it again said this before.. but if you are in the middle you have to live with the insanity of both the left and right. musk sharing his recent video about what jan 6 was like is completely insane
Actually it was a day of love, plus they were all undercover FBI agents, plus they're all going to be pardoned because they were fake charges, plus Nancy Pelosi forgot to send in the National Guard. /s

do you make a habit of this sort of whataboutism bc I find it valuable for people to be able to say "bad things are bad" without feeling a need to reference other bad things at the same time
