One of the benefits of replacing Biden with Kamala is she will actually stand up to receive the credit for Biden's successes on crime, the economy, etc. (Also, a benefit to Kamala is that there is a lot of unclaimed credit left on the table)
The reversal has been stunning since “frisk all” policy adopted to search Passport holding Americans (most fentanyl came across in the hands of American citizens… stopping that led to a huge drop in young deaths)

Best president of my life and the media couped him because his voice is too frail to drive TV ratings
I’d love to credit Biden, but the article seems to say they’re not sure what’s causing the sudden drop
it's kind of on him. the biden team is ABYSMMAL at marketting his accomplishments from the IRA, to ending the drone war to now reducing opiod deaths. but the only way to find out about it is by saying he didn't do anything on twitter & wait for biden stans to go "uhm acktually"
Article just states there is more naloxone. Seems like the core issue persists.
I mean this is part of the generational issue. Silent generation folks generally don't advertise their accomplishments, but it's relentlessly needed. John McCain fell into the same trap.
Regardless on the appreciation of such policies (i leave that to the americans), i think it can be said that Biden has been the president who has enacted significant bipartisan policies since George H W Bush, i guess. This is a priori because i have no data to back this.
According to NPR, it is unclear what has lead to the reduction. It’s good that it’s happening, but tough to crow if we don’t know why.
Translation: the government has spent billions handing out Naloxone which has prevented a significant number of overdose deaths while doing a absolutely nothing to reduce the number of Fentanyl addicts in the streets.
Is this like cutting back to smoking only 2 packs of cigarettes per day?
“While many people offered theories about why the drop in deaths is happening at unprecedented speed, most experts agreed that the data doesn't yet provide clear answers.” It’s 10% down. It’s still way above 2019 levels. I live in an area affected. Incarceration saves lives.

you're delusional we human sacrifice 100k us citizens a year face first into rock bottom on the failure altar of prohibition forever now and you clap like a trained seal
Liberal policies create the problem and then think they deserve the credit when they reverse policy
This seems like it was fueled by Covid lockdown hysteria, and improved when some sanity returned. I credit Republican governors.
Tyrant Biden is Cracking Down on Americans Bringing Fentanyl Over the Border and Sending Them to Guantanamo Bay.
Still ~45% higher than when he took office but progress is progress. Not sure if it’s actually less overdoses or just more Narcan being freely available.

Fact: Fentanyl is China's revenge for the Opium Wars. They blame the West (US & UK, etc.) for preventing China from being in its rightful place - ruling the world (in their view). China plans on ruling the world by the year 2049, the 100th anniversary of CCP. #CCP
He's the reason they rose,so no he doesn't get credit for them coming down. if that's even true.
For slightly easing off on policies he implemented and / or supported that caused a deteriorating situation to become markedly worse, resulting in tens of thousands of excess deaths? Noah, you're MUCH better than this...
could have something to do with the mountains of human bodies he’s piling up. save a few thousand, take a few hundred thousand elsewhere doesn’t really deserve praise.
What was the rate when Biden took office, pray tell? Perhaps there's a good reason he shouldn't be taking credit.

Noah thinks Biden should claim credit for a decrease in overdose deaths that doesn't even come close to reversing the total increase during the Biden years. x.com/Noahpinion/sta…

Considering that nobody quite knows the cause of this victory, it makes sense that credit is not given.
Like when you lauded crime plummeting but forgot to notice the stats didn’t include NY, CA and Chicago. Take a leaf out of Larry Summer’s book - he’s a Democrat but honest and calls out junk - like MMT and “transitory inflation”
The war on drugs as a whole needs to end. If you want to end overdose deaths, then we need a regulated recreational drug market. People aren't overdosing on purpose they aren't getting what they expect. Alcohol, sugar, and tobacco kill way more than illegal drugs.
Old enough to remember when poor, heartland salt-of-the-earth Americans had no choice but to vote trump after pleading desperately to the aloof, latte-sipping, out-of-touch coastal Dems to do ANYTHING to save their communities from the drug crisis. Thinking that may have been BS.
The spike in overdoses was due to decarceration of drug offenders and "harm reduction" policies in blue cities. Naxolone has nothing to do with it.
Biden is so modest to claim credit for the good things he did after telling everybody he has three law degrees.
Lol, it's so easy for Democrats to fool people like you.

It just may have something to do with the border being under better control. Which could have been done the entire time Biden has been in office.
