Foreign-born does not mean foreigners. Most foreign-born population in the US, are US citizens. And it is natural that employment rate among foreign-born went up as a result of deportations because those who left were the weakest attached so more likely to be unemployed.
Yeah we know, but the people who need to know don't believe you or care or understand. We need better messaging and pitching alternative futures. Not better graphs and data.
It takes time. You have to plan for the next 50 years, not 5 months. That’s the problem with politics and citizens. The trend is in the right direction. The Democrats are able to promise free stuff.
As expected. Deporting consumers destroys investment and jobs. And deporting immigrants makes the remaining immigrants all that more valuable in the job market compared to natives.
More people have left the workforce, retired…. And the labor market isn’t adding at the pace seen during Biden, of course having 20 million new low wage workers offered an incentive to businesses for cheap labor.
Male Prime Age Labor force participation 25-54 is 89% Female Prime Age Labor force participation 25-54 is 77%
Foreign born can still be a citizen or green card holder. Illegal immigrants and less visa over stayers. Will help this group actually.
Native born Prime age males is about 90%. That’s full employment. Trump is not against legal employment for legal immigrants Open borders and “Temporary” status that lasts for 15+ years is not a legitimate strategy You are looking for something to criticize that is not there
No one is surprised that the vast majority of US born workers aren’t interested in replacing workers rounded up by ICE picking strawberries 🍓 under scorching sun.
Remember that these numbers were propped up artificially by stimulus spending with respect to pre-pandemic levels. The peak was in 2023, and there was already a decline from there. So you have to compare with what the employment rates would have been without the deportations.
I don’t think you can assume full employment in a counterfactual
