I don't really know what to do with "every time I see you get upset about deaths from aid cuts I hate aid more". That's not how I treat you. If you tell me something is important to you, I hear you out. Maybe I still don't care, but I don't actively make it worse out of spite.

I think one of the clever things to come out of tpot is the norm of liking a tweet before replying, because it filters out the people who can't find the mental discipline to do that even after they know that it will be construed as just following a norm and not an endorsement
Is there a good dive into negative polarization somewhere? Like, is it broad-based or does it affect a subset of the population for example?
This "teaching" misses the point that someone who was considered "in the center" is now relabeled as "far right" by the Democrats & at the same time relabeled as "communist" or "Marxist" by many Republicans. You can be 100% consistent in your beliefs & get "polarized" by others.
