Economic growth is my favourite topic in the world to read and write about. I've come to view it broadly as civilization's capacity to solve problems simultaneously. It is the causal mechanism for almost everything we care about. A comprehensive case against degrowth.

You spent so long writing about environmental issues without actually addressing them. Yes, it's possible to grow in a way that doesn't destroy the environment and lead to ecological collapse. But we're not doing it, nor showing any signs of doing it. How do we correct that?
I think the graph at the end of the ecology section shows just that. GDP continues to rise as CO2 emissions fall in the developed nations. I donโ€™t know why we should presume developing nations will follow a different path, or choose less efficient more polluting technologies
Strongly agree. The deepest problem with degrowth is that it underrates how much of modern civilization, health, science, education, and environmental improvement depends on economic growth
