"Most domains are fundamentally pretty shallow," says @RyanGreenblatt. A concise statement of what the superintelligence worldview gets wrong, IMO. My view is the opposite: many domains are surprisingly deep, and AI won't be able to "quickly pick up a bunch of domains."

Many args about AI net to "fit current trend to a linear or exponential function — wouldn't that be crazy!" But most social processes do not work like that!

The 2 fatal assumptions being: 1) That plenty of data is available 2) The data currently available is legible It'd be easier to do these fields if we could monitor the state of a whole system, but we can't! Too complex, too many butterfly wings
