I support statehood for DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, the nine provinces of Anglophone Canada, the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Jamaica, and Cuba.

Sailrock South Caicos Is a Meticulously Planned Low-Density Community of Villas and Suites for Sale in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Nestled Between Two Beaches, Sailrock Is a Sunrise-Sunset Beachfront Haven Offering Unmatched Privacy That Spans for Miles.
To achieve island statehood, concessions must be made in the Jones Act though. Singularly puts them behind the 8 ball, preventing them from importing much from the U.S. or even other U.S. territories, an asinine situation.
Why leave out Quebec? I looked it up this morning and Prince Edward Island does not meet the population threshold for statehood.
The key to getting more buy-in from American voters is to make it a round number. There's something pleasing about having "50 states" - nobody wants 51 or 52. But you can sell 60 or 70.
If US & Canada were to merge I’d prefer a constitutional convention where we hash out a new federal structure. I don’t like ours (I’d want to nix the Senate, EC & judicial supremacy) & generally prefer their Westminster style parliamentary system, but theirs has flaws too.
If the British can ditch their monarchy and aristocracy, they can also become a state, which will make Mississippi happy, since they wouldn’t be the poorest then.
You don't annex a territory without first settling it, unless the native population are already co-ethnics, or the region is of vital economic or security importance, and the cooperation of the natives must be bought off with citizenship.
Also the Dominican Republic! Grant's failure to accept their request for annexation and statehood due to racism fears remains unforgivable.
I think we should only add three states. Why? Because with 53 states we'll really be "one nation, indivisible". A prime number of states will also make the flag ... interesting.
Yes! And also statehood for metro NYC, metro LA, Bay Area as city-states, subject to approval by their state legislatures. The Senate needs urban representatives to balance out all those islanders. Pack the Senate! Republicans did it in the 1880s.
Canadians should be more upset about their disenfranchisement they should demand the right to vote
Funny re British Columbia. The BC Liberals who were in government from 2001 to 2017, changed their name to BC United, causing everyone to confuse them with a sports team. Their support fell to single digits and they ended up disbanding for thr BC Cons who won 0 seats last time.
I support 2 senators that represent all of the people in those first 4 territories combined, plus the appropriate number of representatives for their combined population. And the corresponding number of EC votes. Every US citizen should be represented in Congress/Presidency.
There are only two types of people I can’t stand in this world: people who are intolerant of other people’s cultures, and the québécois
Guyana? English-speaking, Anglo cultural/political/legal tradition, larger population of Guyanese living in the U.S. than in the country itself, oil
