You have 21 year old software engineers who live in a completely different world from the 80 year olds these departments service. We will see the same problems when they try to "audit" the IRS. People have no idea how many filers still write out and mail old paper tax returns.

SSI database powers a bunch of system, but those systems can't check anything but "alive" or "dead" due to privacy laws.
It's not the SSI checks that are fraudulent. It's the ability to write a 200 year olds' SSN down w/o anyone NOTICING.

The value of phone service could easily be determined by dividing the daily average number of phone calls by the number of SS employees available to answer the calls. Since DOGE hasn't provided the numbers, I assume DOGE just wants to screw over Social Security.
