Correct information about the Starlink situation in Ukraine 👇👇 Regular commercial Starlink, in use by civilians and military, has NOT CHANGED. The speed limit has been in place for a long time, and that is worldwide. This service is also not available to Russians due to a cooperation between Starlink and the Ukrainian government. The affected kits that we hear from, they are on the Starshield plan. They are contracted and paid for by the American government. These are now reportedly also being limited to the same mobility speeds as the commercial variant. The decision to do this comes from the contractor, the US government, NOT FROM STARLINK.

The context is incredibly important. In 1 way it's the evil billionaire who does things nilly willy with no respect to contracts. In the actual real context it's the US military having a contract with SpaceX, and SpaceX has to work with that contract. The difference is HUGE

A targeted propaganda attack. Anyone familiar with Starshield knows exactly who holds the leading authority over the project. Intentionally mixing it up is just an attempt to apply public pressure on Elon in the hope of influencing the government.

Hard to believe that Ukraine was only using Starshield for military use as there are inly 241 StarShield sats in Orbit from what I can tell. 6 or 7 years ago Musk said it would take about 700 satellites for Starlink Beta. So what’s the truth?

Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the US government. Any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS. Starlink is a commercial service owned and controlled by SpaceX. Usage of Starlink is limited to civilian or defensive activities

Just a very minor correction….for Starshield, SpaceX is the contractor to the US Gov. The order for the change came from the Gov. and SpaceX must contractually comply.

“The decision came from the US government, not Starlink” is a convenient explanation that neither side has confirmed. Ukraine says SpaceX imposed the restrictions. So far, both SpaceX and the White House have remained silent.
