It’s insane to report on an abuse of power like this — Paramount’s willingness to bribe Donald Trump obviously has zero legal relevance to whether or not the merger raises antitrust concerns.

It’s not an abuse of power. It’s open, shameless, naked bribery. You don’t see corruption this breathtakingly blatant even in the Third World, where it is how business gets done. Politicians there still pretend to have some shame; with Trump, even the pretense is gone.
