The CIA can't operate domestically, so some of the investigation and information-sharing functions that FITF performed would be outside its remit. The FITF was a conduit for sharing CIA-collected intelligence about foreign influence operations with U.S. partners.

We have more domestic interference then foreign interference. The last time we really had to worry about foreign interference was the Cold War. The department is outdated.

Such as when the foreign spy Christopher Steele was hired by people attempting to subvert the US govt and interfere in the US election that led to the govt illegally obtaining a FISA warrant to spy on political opponents? That kind of foreign interference? Or is that domestic?

Yeah you should sit this out.. there is no FOREIGN influence task force.. FBI is more concerned about DOMESTIC INFLUENCE and going after their Political enemies on behalf of the Globalists within our Government!!! You aren’t in Charge BUD

I think it is saying that the FARA act is now limited to espionage and foreign actors, eliminating its use vs citizens (Its original scope). I think that is good, it was never meant to be a work around for 1st amendment activities. I think it would fall back to the FBI

Yes, this should be a huge 🚩 We need to do everything we can to ensure that foreign actors are not able to impact our elections administration. Task Forces like this are a big part of ensuring that this does not happen.

Honestly considering the current state of affairs it doesn't seem like they were doing much at all. We've got a foreign citizen acting as co-president and a foreign agent getting confirmed as National Intel Director.

BBC is broadcast on American public (radio and internet)media and is a malign influence here, but the task force does nothing about it. It lies every day on public radio. Now we've even found out USAID helps to fund it's activities.
