The most interesting thing about the backlash to ICE rampages is that REPUBLICANS are becoming sharply more pro-immigration. Trump really overreached.

A key error of the Trump 2 admin is overindexing on how deeply owning the libs drives conservatives vs. more mundane motivators like "I want lower taxes/prices"
Many average Republicans run small businesses and let us not ask about where their labor comes from? Again, the most consistent supporters of Illegal Immigrants are California farmers since 1942.
The news stories of raids of farms and small business are real and Trump's base has always been local small business owners. Those raids are hurting farmers and small business.
Amazing. Being anti-immigration is the secret sauce of political success in the West. You have to be really bad at politics to screw it up.
Isn’t this expected? You see this with essentially every political metric. There are people who are in between the candidates and so will prefer the center. So when president changes to the opposite side of the aisle they switch sides as well.
If you used to complain about government overreach and generate police state narratives including the need for “2A”, do you not pause when you see masked men grabbing people including citizens at Home Depot? Do you want a connection to internment camps?
It’s easy to love things when it’s just virtual attacks against theoretical bogeymen. When things are actually enacted and you see the very predictable impact of their horrible policy, it’s another story.
You need care interpreting these polls. Political analysts made the same mistake after Brexit in UK. Concern about immigration went down because they assumed their vote delt with the matter. That's all. Most people don't follow day to day politics much.
