CarbonRun adds crushed limestone to acidified rivers, raising their pH. As river pH increases, atmospheric carbon is removed and stored permanently in mineral form in the ocean.
CarbonRun has a credible, near-term trajectory to less than $100/t. Limestone is widely available and cheap. Limestone dosers are a simple, inexpensive and proven technology which makes R&D costs minimal. Theyโre easy to operate and can largely be automated, limiting labor costs.
MRV is tractable! Rivers allow for direct measurement of the water's chemistry to be taken both upstream and downstream of a treatment point. This allows for COโ removal to be measured directly without having to rely on nascent scientific models.
River liming was originally developed as a conservation practice, helping restore river chemistry and improve salmon stock in acidified rivers. Its long history provides us with data and comfort about its safety for river ecosystems.

Wow! Only $3.5trillion to offset current CO2 production from fossil fuels alone. Who's paying?
Exxon/Shell/TE/Chevron's net income was $150billion
(both from 2022)
Don't see any info on how this liming affects the ecology of rivers & oceans beyond salmon & shellfish

There is confusion about nuclear power being 24/7/365. The root of the confusion comes from the 93% capacity factor (instead of 100%). That factor is averaged across all reactors in the US. Most plants stay online for more than a year and only shut down for refueling
