Would be interesting to see the gender split in that cohort, suspect there might be an even more extreme shift by young men
It’s actually rather simple—since Reagan things have gotten increasingly worse for the working class as $ and opportunity flow upwards.
They all pay lip service to helping normal folks, but when they don’t (or can’t do it fast enough in Biden’s case) those folks move to….
First-time voters also mostly too young to know/remember how difficult/horrifying Trump’s first term was.
They didn’t move right. They just moved away from Genocide Joe and his murderous policies. They’re still pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ, pro-immigration, etc. They just despise Biden - and who in their right mind wouldn’t!
It's strange that there is no mention of gender. Young men and women both voted for Trump in larger numbers than 2020, but there's a sizable diff. btw them.

Because the majority of them get their news from social media and the Right Wing owns social media.. also because it is really hard to find a good paying job now. Ironic, they turned to those who are making it harder.
