The SF Board of Supervisors dropped the inclusionary housing rate to 5 percent in a 9-2 vote on Tuesday, and narrowly passed an amendment to make the rate 8 percent solely for the Mission.

We have a housing shortage, and we shouldn’t tax new housing construction, which is what the inclusionary mandate is. It’s counterproductive to have a higher such tax in the Mission than elsewhere given our proximity to transit, and it’s disappointing that our supervisors decided
Good lord why is the mission so coddled? It needs housing the most and our dumb board of supervisors keeps kowtowing to progressive nimbys
Cool, so natives in the Mission will get pushed out while natives in other parts of the cities get to stay. Whatever.
