One funny thing about Mamdani is he demonstrates how defective Bill de Blasio’s politics was. Being pleasant and charming can get you a lot farther with the same ideas.

Also helps Mamdani doesn’t really have a long term intra-party mortal enemy he’s constantly battling with like De Blasio was with Cuomo.

Don’t think that’s true. Zohran is in Bill 2013 mode. If he governs for 8 years they’ll hate him. Best bet for future office is do some good for a few years then announce he’s letting someone else have a go.

charm can't be taught, but pleasant, and not being a preachy scold just takes a little effort you think he's gonna get his ideas passed, though?

Mamdani crushed a political dynast in andrew cuomo 2x and made sitting mayor eric adams drop out of the race... tell me doesnt that remind you of anyone???

I’m guessing that if you assume the same policy portfolio, you’re going to get a lot farther with the guy who didn’t murder a groundhog with his bare hands.
