More words: of the 3500+ species of mosquitoes, 40 bite humans regularly and 6 are responsible for the vast bulk of disease transmission. We accidentally made more species than that extinct - let’s do this group on purpose.
we don't need to eradicate all mosquitos, just the ones that feed on humans and other animals (about half do not)
it has been done on local scales, for particular species.
they're not a major food source for any animal or insect, with the exception of a few species of larvae-eating fish and some dragonflies
You need to build some "bat homes" around your house, that'll take care of em, or knock their numbers in the head at least.. .
While mosquitoes may be one of the deadliest animals due to their ability to carry certain diseases, it’s actually only about 9% of the species!
And scientists are already hard at work bioengineering em, so nothing to worry about except climate change!
