Was it Mamdani the one who marketed it with the "woke gloss"? I remember reading the original memo from Mamdani's team and it didn't use that framing at all, but pub headlines certainly did.

I think the outcome of such a policy wouldn't be a lessoning of the tax burden on single family homes, but would fix the issue where lower density condos are paying lower rates (on a per person basis) than large dense apartment buildings.
