Yep. Apparently, earlier, the flames were getting close to the road and traffic was gridlocked. People just panicked and ran. (LAFD says if you DO have to abandon your car, leave the keys. #ProTip.)
Prayers for all affected and thanks to the brave heroes putting their lives on the line. I really hope this bulldozer driver gets to tell his grandkids about the day he crushed benzes and lambos with impunity and opened up the highway for emergency vehicles.

also the cars full of gasoline will help the fire jump the road if they arent on to the side - besides blocking firefighters..

Was this normal 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100 years ago?????? Can you imagine driving home on the freeway and all of a sudden there is traffic. You look ahead and there’s a wildfire. And the best option you have is to abandon your car and just sprint the opposite direction?
The people in front should be held liable for every car behind them! They made a dumb choice for everyone else left on the mountain!

For those of us who worked and lived through the Camp Fire there are a number of eerie parallels today. This image is all to similar to the life or death work of moving abandoned cars on road out of Paradise that blocked the evacuation route.
Why don’t they make this common sense information available? I would’ve never thought to leave my keys in the car and are they really checking cars for keys before they bulldoze them?
I believe it was due to the traffic jam--they were impatient and walked down the street. The flames weren't on top of them.
