Yep. Apparently, earlier, the flames were getting close to the road and traffic was gridlocked. People just panicked and ran. (LAFD says if you DO have to abandon your car, leave the keys. #ProTip.)
Prayers for all affected and thanks to the brave heroes putting their lives on the line.
I really hope this bulldozer driver gets to tell his grandkids about the day he crushed benzes and lambos with impunity and opened up the highway for emergency vehicles.

I believe it was due to the traffic jam--they were impatient and walked down the street. The flames weren't on top of them.
