Trump creating a fake crisis with Mexico over fake tariff threats only to settle it in exchange for fake concessions all over a holiday week when he’s not even in office yet is a reminder of how exhausting-yet-boring four full years of this will be.

Biden *did* negotiate an agreement with the Mexican government to slow the passage of the migrants to the US border — that’s why it was so easy for Mexico to make this fake concession to Trump in exchange for him dropping his fake tariff threats.

We all saw how he got illegal immigration under control in his first term with zero help from Congress, so yes, I fully expect him to solve it in his 2nd term. And you expect that, too. Regardless of your gaslighting.
Boring? Isn’t that an awesome thought! We could all just focus on what we need to do without needless wars and conflict. What a wonderful thing that would be.

Deja Vu? In May 2019, President Trump announced 25% tariffs on Mexico, with 5% to be imposed on June 10 and then increase by 5% each month until reaching 25%. The tariffs would stay at 25% “until Mexico substantially stops the illegal inflow of aliens coming through its x.com/business/statu…

I didn't know what the term was, but it's called a negotiation stake. It's some kind of negotiation strategy, it's like making sure the person you're negotiating with understands that they're the bully in this conversation
What is it called when you're going into a negotiation and you put something on the table that indicates what you are willing to do if you feel like you aren't being honestly negotiated with? Is it called a marker? A stake?
Answer by Grok
In negotiation terminology, when you place something on the table to indicate what you are willing to do if the negotiation does not proceed honestly or fairly, it's typically referred to as setting a stake. This term reflects your commitment or what you stand to gain or lose in the negotiation, similar to its use in business or gambling contexts where it means what someone has invested or risked in an endeavor. Here are some related concepts from negotiation and business: BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement)**: This isn't exactly what you're describing but is related. It's your best alternative if the negotiation fails, essentially what you might do if the negotiation doesn't yield a satisfactory outcome. Ultimatum**: Sometimes, what you're describing can take the form of an ultimatum, which is a final offer or demand where failure to accept leads to a specific action or consequence. Walkaway**: This is the point where one decides to end the negotiation rather than accept an unfavorable deal, which might be implied by your action of setting a stake. While "marker" is not a commonly recognized term in this context, in gaming (like poker), it might informally refer to a chip or token representing value or a promise to pay, but in negotiation, this usage would be less conventional. Therefore, when entering a negotiation and you place something on the table to show your willingness to act if not dealt with honestly, stake is the most appropriate term.
He created every damn crisis he spouted in his campaign. It’s his only method of getting attention since he has zero policies to help Americans. He can’t and won’t fix a single thing, just like his first Presidency. He will simply keep fleecing Americans and accepting more

Immigration is a complex problem. It’s not simple math it’s more like algebra. There are many things that will go into reducing the inflow. Saying one thing like tariffs will, or will not, reduce inflow is simple thinking for simpletons. There are many levers to pull. Tariffs,

1/ Despite Trump’s post on Truth Social, the new President of Mexico denies any agreement and says Mexico will continue assisting the flow of illegal migrants to the US:

En nuestra conversación con el presidente Trump, le expuse la estrategia integral que ha seguido México para atender el fenómeno migratorio, respetando los derechos humanos. Gracias a ello se atiende a las personas migrantes y a las caravanas previo a que lleguen a la frontera.

I don’t understand how the tariff-as-bluff negotiating tactic is supposed to work if Trump allies are just tweeting constantly that it’s a negotiating tactic. As a bad poker player, this reminds me of something I would do.

Except Trump now has a propaganda arm to sell his lies. During his first term legacy media was able to push back. Not so much this time around.

The legacy media forgot that honesty really is the best policy. Now you are the media.
What are your thoughts on Biden flying illigals all over the country, feeding and housing them, giving them cash, letting them terrorize and commit crimes and destroy American culture, you bald b!+ch?
There was never going to be a “crisis” with Mexico. They have nothing we need and will do whatever we say. Pretending otherwise is the crisis.
Clearly you missed his first term where immigration numbers were better than the four years after his term. Pretty sad that a man who’s not in office yet is working harder to help American than the two idiots currently in office. Grow up.
You could, I mean consider it anyway, unplugging from X semi permanently or permanently and taking a mental heath break like Rob Reiner has done.
You're missing the point. Trump isn't even in office yet and he successfully negotated a deal with Mexico to show the illegals from crossing or border.
