๐ŸšจCONGESTION PRICING IS BACK ON THE MENU๐Ÿšจ seriously though, Hochul shouldnโ€™t try to get too cute and change up the toll amounts in a way that requires additional federal review. just let the original pre-approved plan go through.

Congestion pricing may come back from the grave, as Hochul is now talking to the feds about getting quick approval before Trump comes into office. Scoop with @RyRivard: politico.com/news/2024/11/0

I heard that they studied all the metrics at the 15 and 9 dollar price points So Iโ€™m assuming all that would need to be done is federal sign off of the changed price that was already studied
easier said than done though, could be snarled in a new lawsuit or something. additionally, a $15 peak toll and $4 off peak toll will do a much better job at reducing traffic than a $9 toll around the clock
Serious question: In the 100% unlikely event that Hochul does turn on congestion pricing, could a future Republican-majority NYS legislature feasibly overturn it?
Mark my words, Hochul will have another diner panic attack early next week. At which time she will piss both sides off by floating a $5 (five dollar) toll.
